The robot spacecraft “Cassini” repeatedly pleased its stunning pictures of Saturn, but his latest work shows how he and others like him travelers ( “Voyager 1” ) miss home.

July 19 located at a distance of 1.5 billion kilometers spacecraft “Cassini” took a picture of the Earth from Saturn’s rings . It is worth noting that this is only the third shot in history, at which the Earth captured from the outer solar system – it is a small blue dot. Image created as an experiment by drawing a large pan of Saturn’s rings in order to study their structure, so that the Earth and the Moon are likely to casual visitors.

Linda Spilker, a member of the “Cassini” and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory of NASA said that this image is once again reminds mankind of how small the Earth is in the vastness of the unknown space, and also shows the ingenuity of the residents of the tiny planet that bring data from space ships, under which the power to do this kind of opening.

Currently, NASA has provided another snapshot of the near-Earth you can see the moon.
