# Photo of the day | The first color photo of Mars, made by an Indian of the Martian satellites

A week earlier, we wrote that the Indian spacecraft Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) successfully reached orbit of the Red Planet and soon will achieve its scientific objectives to Mars.

When they reached the Red Planet, while on September 28 at an altitude of 74,500 kilometers above Mars, Mars Orbiter Mission made its first color image of the fourth planet from the Sun. In the future, the image, such as the one you can see above, will be used for further analysis and study the Martian upper atmosphere.

Recall that the main objective of the probe Mars Orbiter Mission will be to find and measure the level of methane in the Martian atmosphere.
