There are pictures appeared showing the circuit board of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080. It also shows the exact name of the GPU on the graphics card: it is the GP104-400-A1. The PCB has 5 + 1 phases and seems to be keyed for an additional 8pin plug.

Although Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 has revealed, the manufacturer has not yet announced the details. So was officially the exact model number of the GPU still unknown. Photos of the chip, published by Videocardz, prove now that it is indeed, the GP104, or GP104-400-A1 to be complete.

There are also photographs appeared showing the entire circuit of the reference design. Then we see that the GTX 1080 5 + 1 phase has five for the GPU and one for the memory. That’s more than the GTX 980, which has 4 + 1 phase, but less than the GeForce GTX 980 Ti with 6 + 2 phases. The PCB layout is what concerns similar to that of the GTX 980, with eight memory modules on each side of the printed circuit board.

Nvidia uses one 8pin connector at Founders Edition, either the reference design. That connection is good for 150 watts and from the PCIe slot can be pulled further 75 watts. The video card has a TDP of 180 watts. On the board are additional pins present, possibly a second 8pin connector. However, this is at odds with the other connector, or these pins are intended for the addition of a second power connector is not entirely clear. Manufacturers may add an additional power supply to 1080 GTX graphics cards come with a hefty overclock.

Also, the first photos of the GeForce GTX 1080 surfaced with a custom design. It is a video card of Galax, which is equipped in the eye with a simple and inexpensive blower cooling coil. Probably will choose other manufacturers for chillers with multiple fans, just like the current GTX 980- and 980 Ti cards.
