After a couple of renders a month ago Android Police has now been handed pictures of what the site with certainty say that the new Nexus model called ‘Sailfish’ is. Apart from the smaller size this handset would be the same as its big brother ‘Marlin’.

Android Police says full conviction that this is the new Nexus. They also strongly suspect that the manufacturer of the device is HTC. The source of the pictures remain anonymous. Are also the images corresponds to a different photo that leaked from the unit. The person who placed it on the website, also speaks of the device is made by HTC. In the pictures clearly shows that the use of glass and metal for the exterior and that plastic does not seem to come to pass. Only the Google logo on the back would still exist, but they would just sit on according to the site by the time the unit enters the production phase.

Sailfish variant would be a 5 “screen and the screen of 5.5 Marlin would” be great. Apart from that size and resolution of the screen the two planes would be identical. That information came from within Android Police, last month. Sailfish would a screen have of 1920×1080 pixels, but it is not sure if that is an LCD or OLED screen, even though the latter likely is. The screen of larger Marlin would be a resolution of 2560×1440 have .

The unit will presumably a Snapdragon 821-soc. Furthermore, the device would have 4GB of RAM and, in any case, 32GB of storage memory. There are one or more speakers at the bottom of the device, a fingerprint scanner at the back and the battery would have a capacity of 2770mAh. Further details regarding these two devices, such as availability and prices, are not there yet.

Moreover, it is a coincidence that one of the two new Nexus’en inherits the same name as the mobile OS of Finnish origin. All Nexus devices get a code name referring to an animal from the sea.
