Pizza Hut follows eye movements to determine what customer wants to order




Pizza Hut is experimenting with a technology that can predict based on eye movement which wants to order a customer. The system measures the ingredients for the customer looking for the longest time, and, on this basis, a pizza together.

The pizza chain system uses eye tracking software manufacturer Tobii which include on tablets can be installed to get customers to take their orders with. The system follows the customer’s eye movement and can thus register where the longest being watched. So the software knows what ingredients are considering the customer, and on the basis of a pizza is made.

Pizza Hut calls his order system Subconscious menu. It is as yet only tested, but there would be successfully achieved with, as a spokesman for the pizza chain know the British newspaper The Telegraph. There would be only 2.5 seconds are needed for the system to reach a decision, which corresponds to 98 percent of cases with the wishes of the customer.

It is not clear when the system will actually be used in the restaurants of Pizza Hut. Subconscious menu would still be an early test phase, but according to a spokesman for the company it does have potential.
