Pocophone F1 and other Xiaomi phones get better Google Lens integration

Xiaomi smartphones get Google Lens in their camera apps. This means that users of these phones no longer have to navigate to the stand-alone Google Lens app to use those functions.

The update applies to the Pocophone F1 and the Redmi Note 7 series. The Redmi Y2 is also eligible, but only with beta-mini-ROMs. The update must already have been propagated, so whoever has the right device and the Google Lens app on his phone can find the Lens function in the Mi camera app, in the menu at the top right.

With Google lens, users can take actions based on texts, such as telephone numbers or e-mail addresses, or perform a visual search . This way, more images of an object can be looked up and the object can even be identified by Google-ai. For example, a dog can be told what its breed is, or a flower can be named.
