Find a Question:
Police are hosting providers accountable for cybercrime ‘
The police will talk to hosting providers that “too little” in the eyes of the police do against cybercrime. According to a letter that was sent to hosting providers, and those owned by Security.nl. It is unknown to what hosters it goes.
Police “Some hosting providers play a facilitating role in cyber crime. It may be that you are not as aware of your hosting company facilitating role,” cites Security.nl from the letter to web hosters who have been contacted by the police. The police want to talk with the providers to point out what they are doing wrong in the eyes of the police.
Together with TU Delft, the police identified the ISPs ‘worse score’ when it comes to combating cybercrime. Which web hosts are involved, not Security.nl reports. Many web hosts according to the police, incidentally already on the right track.
It is unclear exactly what the police requires webhosters whether or not unnoticed host cybercrime. Probably the police want to get that hosters such websites without court intervention offline. That is also controversial: critics say the police must first obtain a court order and have providers through official channels are summed to get pirated content offline.Viewing:-486
