Presents Qualcomm Snapdragon 430-SOC for midrange smartphones
Qualcomm has presented the successor of its Snapdragon 400 and 410-socs. The Snapdragon 430 is the first soc with an Adreno GPU of the fifth generation, but still makes use of Cortex-A53 cores.
Compared to the 410, the 430 does have more processor cores. It is a octacore eight Cortex A53 cores with a maximum clock speed of 1.2 GHz, Qualcomm announced in the specs. The 430 has an Adreno 505 GPU which should be efficient and should offer better performance, but figures relative to those of its predecessor, the processor designer is not. The 430 is the first soc with a GPU from the Adreno-5 generation.
The isp on the 28nm SOC supports cameras with a maximum resolution of 21 megapixels. The modem is an X6 from the US company itself, with support for 4G to 150Mbit / s down and 75Mbit / s up. Dutch providers have support for faster 4G connections then provides this upcoming soc. The SOC supports wifi ac, a novelty in the Snapdragon 400 series.
The supported memory is of the lpddr3-type at a maximum of 800 MHz. The SOC has to appear as ‘later’ next year in smartphones.Viewing:-154
