PRISM: why Apple was so late like?

PRISM: why Apple was so late like?

Talk about a nice fodder for conspiracy theorists (and the group with the apple rather not sympathetic contemporaries ;)). When PRISM Leak reveals that Apple should be only been there quite late, from October 2012. One guess is that it was thanks to Steve Jobs that Apple was not there previously in such a program, although, or perhaps because Steve Jobs had very good contacts with the NSA.
PRISM: why Apple was so late like?

Whether a direct and possibly uncontrolled server access by the NSA is really possible or whether it is only the program is facilitated by the provision of information to authorities is requested by court order irrelevant to this question. But it is so, that of course are obliged under the laws enterprises under certain circumstances, such as the existence of an appropriate court order to disclose information to the authorities out. The company it to the authorities but do not necessarily easier to get at this information:

While handing over data in response to a legitimate request FISA is a legal requirement, making it Easier for the government to get the information is not, Which is why Twitter Could decline to do that.

Steve Jobs has just made and prevents Apple separate interfaces for the NSA provides cross? A former NeXT developer of this opinion:

Steve Jobs would’ve died rather than give into that, even though he had a lot of friends at the NSA. Microsoft caved in first, then everyone else. Steve would’ve just never done it.

Has Steve Jobs when he prevents it, an interface for the NSA at Apple prevented despite or because of his good contacts to the NSA? After all, he has supplied with NeXT next to the NSA and other security authorities and he was said to have good contacts with the NSA. Could he only because of his contacts allow you to refuse to cooperate with the NSA? He had a deal with the NSA or even immunity?

Or is it due simply much more banal: Did the NSA previously no interest in facilitating access to the data at Apple, because quite late corresponding data have been incurred in a relevant degree in Cupertino, such as the communication data around iMessages and FaceTime? This would speak that yes apparently also denied Twitter without problems of creating such an interface, since Twitter, but most of the data is public, it could well be that the NSA – until now – well without such support through Twitter can live.

Since it is not likely that the NSA is the clear up at some point, everyone his story can now choose: on the one hand, Steve Jobs, who used his government contacts to protect Apple users before the NSA spying or the other Page Apple as a company that was not relevant enough just before 2012 in order to sniff their customers. It seeks you out 🙂
