Proximus and Huawei achieve 1Tbit / s over fiber optic backbone
Proximus network with Huawei describes itself as a world first by using a single ‘super channel “to send on a fiber backbone of his 1Tbit / s of data. The Belgian telco thinks the technology can scale the capacity of its backbone.

Transmission technology could significantly increase the capacity of fiber backbone connections by compressing the gaps between transmission channels. This would yield an efficiency of 150 percent over 100Gbit / s connections to the core network.
