Published the first screenshots of Firefox for iOS

In December last year, it was reported intention to release a separate version of Mozilla Firefox for iOS. Today in the network got the first screenshots browser to assess the application interface of the future.

I must say that Mozilla’s changed his mind about Firefox for iPhone and iPad. In the past, the company stated that the program does not appear on the platform as long as Apple will continue its unfriendly policy in relation to third-party Web browsers. In these conditions, all third-party browsers on iOS UIWebView component used to display web pages. At the same time the Apple uses a different, faster, processing engine JavaScript, which is called Nitro.

Apple does not allow third-party developers access to the engine Nitro, but does not allow them to use their own. As a result, Safari standard has a higher rate than any other browsers on the platform.

Now, Mozilla has decided to bring its platform fast engine IonMonkey, which is represented in the Android-version of browser. A few years ago, the company demonstrated a prototype browser for iPad, code-named Junior, who used Apple UIWebView. Mozilla then noted: “There are many reasons why we should attend the iOS, even though we can not move there, our rendering engine.”

Even if Firefox and will be forced to use technology Apple, this does not negate the possibility of cloud sync bookmarks and history, as, indeed, and the other options available to Firefox users on Android. Judging by the screenshots in Mozilla decided to move all the basic functionality of the application on iOS.

Earlier, the chief software architect David Dolphin Browser Degan expressed confidence that the competition in the iOS platform is very important for survival. In Opera Software expressed the belief that giving users the choice is very important for the development of Web browsers and network as a whole.
