Publisher Tweakers, AD and de Volkskrant carries cookie wall again




De Persgroep, publisher of Tweakers, Auto Track, AD, de Volkskrant and Wegener newspapers, run from Monday, another cookie wall. The publisher does this by order of the ACM, which is actively enforce cookie law. Earlier GeenStijl conducted for the same reason in the wall again.

The step of the Belgian publishing means that in addition Tweakers include the sites of the Volkskrant, Trouw, Het Parool, the AD, AutoTrack, Q-Music and Wegener titles get a cookie wall. De Persgroep has received a letter from the ACM, the authority that oversees compliance with the cookie law, that current cookie notification is not enough. The publisher says reluctantly to the reintroduction decided to do.

In 2012 and 2013 targeted several sites a cookie wall in order to comply with the cookie law, but they took a later remark by Minister Kamp that no explicit consent from visitors was necessary to tear down the wall and to suffice with a cookie message. In fact, they acted thus be contrary to the law. The ACM has taken all that time on the plain, but has now begun sending letters to sites that do not comply with the rules.

Among other GeenStijl recently received such a letter, along with sister sites Glamorama and Daskapital. Even those sites are fitted with a cookie wall again. Probably follow many more sites in the coming period. Many website administrators took last time contact the DDMA, the trade association of the marketing sector, in response to letters she received from market watchdog ACM.
