Pwn2Own hackers use NFC to crack security smartphones

Various Mobile Pwn2Own hackers have nfc used to crack the security of smartphones. In two cases involved a Samsung Galaxy S5, while an idea from the TV series Person of Interest resulted in cracking the security of the Nexus 5.

The hacker in question used to two NFC phones forced to leave with each pair, something that in the TV series Person of Interest under the name ‘blue-jacking’ plays a role. Thanks to the forced mate he had access to the Nexus 5, writes in a post about HP Mobile Pwn2Own.

The exploits that hackers used the Samsung Galaxy S5 seem impossible on other devices. In which vulnerabilities concerned the flaws in the NFC implementation of the Samsung device. The iPhone 5s and Amazon Fire Phone became victims of hackers. Both went vulnerability through the browser, where attackers could break out of the sandbox. It is unknown when the manufacturers will close the vulnerabilities.

Mobile Pwn2Own is a competition in which hackers try together to stabbing the better of as quickly as possible to crack the security of phones. They do this by means of previously unknown vulnerabilities.
