Qualcomm files complaint against Meizu in about 3- and 4G standards




Qualcomm has announced that it lodges a complaint against Chinese electronics giant Meizu. The complaint is about not wanting to pay for use of Qualcomm established techniques which are the standards for 3G and 4G.

According has tried to convince the Meizu a message from Qualcomm order to comply with the Chinese antitrust law. Qualcomm says that more than one hundred other companies have previously agreed to a special rectification plan that it has drawn up and submitted to the Chinese national development and reform commission.

Qualcomm filed this plan after it was punished because too high a licensed remittance charge brought by Chinese companies. Qualcomm had previously fined to pay 860 million euros. Qualcomm also had to reduce the use of its technologies in China. Since then, Qualcomm is working to conclude new patent agreements where Meizu does not want to work on.

China is Qualcomm’s main market. The country provides 53 per cent of the worldwide turnover of the company, a total of over $ 25 billion last year, writes Reuters. Qualcomm is no doubt that Meizu has used its intellectual property. It would not do to Qualcomm on the damage it suffers from not getting a share of the revenue, but to “keep playing field for everyone in China right ‘it.
