Quantum computing will not soon become an everyday reality, but a discovery made by scientists of the University of California, Santa Barbara, can accelerate the process of transition to them.

A team of scientists led by Professor John Martinis (John Martinis) failed at the quantum level manipulate light on the superconducting chip.

The switch and the cavity they were able to take control of the spatial orientation of the wave form of a photon. The finding could be a starting point for other breakthroughs in this area.

The next task to be solved researchers is whether the data over long distances (between Earth and satellites, or from one end of the world to another).
