Raspberry Pi Foundation unveils expansion with DVB-T2 connection

The Raspberry Pi Foundation has announced the TV HAT, an add-on board with a DVB-T2 connection. The TV extension is based on a new Hardware Attached on Top form factor for add-ons.

The Raspberry TV HAT makes it possible to receive TV and watch on a Raspberry Pi or use it as a server to stream TV to other devices, according to the foundation. This concerns dvb-t2 streams. The add-on must be connected to a 40-pin gpio header on a Raspberry Pi, where the maker recommends taking a Pi 2, 3 or 3B +. The price is 19.95 euros.

The TV HAT has the size of a Raspberry Pi Zero. It is the first in a series with the new HAT form factor. There are three screw holes: the fourth is omitted so that the HAT can be connected to a Raspberry Pi without getting in the way of the screen connection.
