Razer Blade gaming laptop gives GTX 970M with 6GB of VRAM and upgrade to Skylake

Razer has released a new version of its Blade gaming laptop with 14 “announced screen. The new model, like its predecessor, the GTX 970M graphics card, but with 6GB instead of 3GB GDDR5 memory. The Blade upgraded to Skylake and DDR4 rAM.

The new Razer Blade is just like its predecessors, was a relatively thin 14 “laptop for gamers. The previous model still offers and Haswell chip, now Razer switched to Skylake. The laptop is a Core i7-6700HQ processor, a quad with four cores running at 2.6GHz and boost to 3.5GHz. There is 16GB DDR4 ramgeheugen present. Although the video card like in the previous two versions of the GTX 970M Blade, Razer has doubled VRAM to 6GB. In the previous model was already at a cost as possible.

Who is not enough to have the graphics processing power of the 970M can connect an external casing on the 3 thunderbolt port where a powerful desktop GPU can be placed. AMD announced recently XConnect technique that must run this and Nvidia has beta support for controlling external GPUs via thunderbolt stopped in his drivers.

The laptop runs on Windows 10 and versions come with PCI-E-m2-SSD of 256GB or 512GB. Razer gives no longer a choice between a model with full HD resolution or qHD + resolution of 3200×1800 pixels. The only difference is the size of the SSD, all laptops have a Touch-screen with qHD + IGZO panel.

Furthermore, the Blade has a Wi-Fi ac adapter board and a battery with a capacity of 70Wh. The housing is 17,9mm high and the laptop weighs 1,93kg. Like the previously presented Razer Blade Stealth’s new Blade has a keyboard with rgb lighting that is adaptable per key.

In the US drops the price of the Blade laptop to $ 1999 for the version with 256GB SSD-and to $ 2199 for the 512GB model. In the previous version was that at least $ 2399 for a model with QHD + display.

Razer Netherlands could give no details yet on euro pricing and availability in the Benelux. Since late 2015, the Blade laptops in the Benelux for sale, which however involves the models that start that year were introduced in the United States. The new Blade Presumably also available here, but when is not yet known.
