Recon combines paintball mask with heads-up display

Recon demonstration at CES in Las Vegas a system consisting of a paintball mask, heads-up display, wearable, and GoPro App. The display in the mask can see a map with their team members accordingly.

The Recon snow2 heads-up display is integrated into the Empire EVS helmet Empire Paintball and pushing the users with a screen that would be similar to a 14 “display from a distance of one and a half meters. The display is positioned directly under the mask and thus is not bothersome in sight, but players need their eyes for a moment to focus down to see the images on the screen, making them momentarily distracted. The images are displayed sharply and clearly.

The screen is not only to see a map with locations of team members, but also the remaining quantity of ammunition and the place of the home and those of the opposition. With a wearable is to adjust the display. Recon also demonstrated a combination with a GoPro which was attached to the barrel of a paintball gun and operate via the wearable.

The system runs on Android and includes a dual core with clock speed of 1GHz. In addition, a nine-axis motion sensor and support for Bluetooth 4.0, wifi and gps present. The price and availability are not yet known. Recon has been since June last year, part of Intel.
