Find a Question:
Reddit reset passwords of 100,000 accounts after increase hijacking
The administrators of Reddit have made a password reset at 100,000 different accounts from the website. The site says to do so because of a perceived increase in the amount hijacked accounts.
reddit Reddit administrator KeyserSosa submit a correlation between the increase in hijackings and recent large dumps of user names and passwords on the web. He emphasized that Reddit itself is not hacked, but that the increase in hijackings owe would be the dumps and the tendency of users to use the same password on several different websites.
Reddit says even though they are not responsible for the hijackings, right to take measures to combat them. For example, they would have improved their ability to recognize a hijacking and must be followed by more password resets in the near future. Reddit will continue the “huge load” unused throwaways, accounts that are often used only once to discuss sensitive personal issues, try to limit by making it possibly inactive. Finally stressed the administrator that the security of user accounts mainly lies in the hands of the users.Viewing:-123
