Released the first batch of Russian engineering 8-core processors Elbrus-8C




MCST Russian company announced the first batch of processors engineering Elbrus-8C and Southbridge KPI-2. Microchips are made in compliance with the 28-nm process technology, have the processing power of 250 gigaflops. The chips are ready to test hardware designer.


Crystal microprocessor Elbrus-8C is designed for 28 nm technology, has 8 cores with improved 64-bit architecture Elbrus 3rd generation, the cache level 2 total volume of 4 MB level 3 volume of 16 MB. The processor is fully Russian development.

On the basis of Elbrus-8C planned mass production servers, workstations and other computer equipment intended for use in public institutions and business structures are increased requirements for information security, as well as for use in high performance computing, signal processing, telecommunications .

In the near future, expect to see in the sale of domestic processors should not be. MCST plans to launch pre-production samples only at the end of 2015.
