Report: Samsung Develops A Wireless Headset With Its Pixby Digital Assistant

Samsung has begun to develop a Bluetooth headset similar to Apple’s AirPod, equipped with its Bixby digital assistant, according to a South Korean newspaper that also said it is expected to launch simultaneously with the forthcoming Galaxy Note 8 In September.

ETNews said it was not yet clear whether Samsung planned to provide the headset with its Galaxy Note 8 tablet or that it would sell it separately, adding that the headset is expected to be released as a brand name for the speakers as Samsung E.

According to the Korean newspaper, Samsung’s wireless headset will support special noise cancellation technology and will use the human body to eliminate noise, a technology not available in Apple’s iPod headset.

“If the Bluetooth headset is launched, it will be a great addition to the convenience of smart phone users,” a company official was quoted as saying. “It is difficult to confirm a specific action because the product is not yet certain.”

The ETNews report coincides with Samsung’s official announcement of the date of the unveiling of the Galaxy Note 8, which will take place on August 23 in New York City.

The report also comes about two weeks after another report that Samsung is developing a smart home speaker. Like Echo from Amazon and Hom from Google, it is powered by its digital assistant, Pixby.
