Report: smart phone shipments beyond traditional counterparts for the first time

Company published “IDC” competent research communications market and the global information technology, a report which confirmed the number of smart phone shipments in the first quarter of this year 2013 its conventional counterpart for the first time in history.

According to the report , it was until the end of last March charging more than 418.6 million mobile phones all over the world, so that the share of smart phones, including 216.2 million, with an annual increase amounted to 40%.

Said senior researcher at the company “IDC”, Kevin Rstepo that time which was used where mobile phones to make calls and exchange text messages only, has gone, as he put it, he added, saying that the adoption of makers of mobile phones on smart phones more, led to a preponderance of the balance of power to their advantage against their traditional counterparts.

In spite of the report of the company “IDC” did not enter into the details of shipments of smart phones and mobile conventional according to region, but previous reports had indicated that the emerging markets, such as China, Brazil and India, was the owner of the largest share to contribute to the growth of smart phone shipments.
