Researcher finds database of persons with ‘security’




A researcher claims on Reddit that he holds a database of people with “increased safety”, including people with alleged links to terrorism. It would be a list of Thomson Reuters, which is used for financial screening by banks.

The researcher, Chris Vickery, Motherboard has access given in the list. The database contains 2.24 million entries, divided into categories like “politics”, “military”, “crime – drugs’ and ‘terrorism’. It would be a copy of the ‘ World-Check ‘ database of Thomson Reuters in mid-2014.

Vickery is not known how he comes to the database, but claims that it was not a hack but is a leak, and not through Thomson Reuters itself. He asks via Reddit users for opinions whether to give the database freely.
