Revenues from music streaming in the US takes in from downloads




Revenues from streaming music which has overtaken permanent downloads in the US. According to research by the Recording Industry Association of America to the music sales in the United States in 2015.

According to the RIAA took the streaming of music in 2015 to 34.3 percent of sales. Thus those revenues for the first time overtaken the revenue from digital downloads: that proportion remained stabbing in 2015 at 34 percent. The US music industry believes that the increased revenue from streaming is partly due to the introduction of new services such as Tidal much discussed and Apple Music. Revenues from other sectors such as digital downloads and ringtones was like back in previous years.

The number of paid subscriptions made a growth of forty percent to an average of 10.8 million for the year. This was the main contributor to the increased sales of the music industry. The total revenue for paid subscriptions stood at $ 1.2 billion, slightly more than the other two sources, Internet and On-Demand Ad-Supported together, which have yielded respectively 803 million and $ 385 million. Also, the last two, which includes revenue from ads on YouTube and the like fall, have grown compared to previous years, but significantly less than the subscription revenue.

In total music sales, according to the RIAA in the United States a little more than raised $ 7 billion, which it has grown 0.9 percent since 2014.
