Wednesday, the first reviews of the Nexus 6 appeared, the new smartphone Google Nexus series appearing in a few weeks in the Netherlands. The phone is good, so is the shared conclusion, but the battery life is disappointing.
One of the pluses that call all reviewers at the Nexus 6 is the presence of Android Lollipop. The software is as fresh and experienced Ars Technica cites the example, although not perfect, but the best Android update in years. The design of Motorola, the soundness and additional features such as voice control and Ambient Display appreciated. Furthermore, the conclusion is that the device with its 5.96 “screen is very large and that not everyone will be able to handle this format well. The resolution of 2560×1440 pixels on an impressive AMOLED panel, but Anandtech notes that the color is not accurate and that there is a high saturation.
The Snapdragon 805 soc Qualcomm is a fast quad and scored as expected, but Ars Technica experienced that low sequential read and write speeds of memory for longer waiting times when loading apps, poorer multitask experience slower game play than in the Nexus 5 worry. According to Anandtech would cause bugs in Android Lollipop for frame drops and freezes.
About the battery life is not a single reviewer enthusiastic. Engadget calls the mediocre, The Verge speaks of volatility. Competitive Note 4 Samsung with similar specifications set across the board better battery time down at AnandTech. Finally, the camera is a lot better than those of previous Nexus devices, but it is not again a better camera than that of high-endconcurrenten. With a price of $ 649, in the Netherlands and Belgium 649 euros, the Nexus 6 is not cheap, but less expensive Samsung Note that Apple’s iPhone 4 and 6 Plus. However, the smartphone also has its downsides, so it can be a tough sell for Google, said the reviewers.
