Robots will be able to learn from the video on YouTube

Scientists from the University of Maryland with the support of the US Agency for Defense Advanced Research Projects (DARPA) are developing technology that will enable robots to learn on their own while watching the video. The program itself is called Mathematics of Sensing, Exploitation and Execution (MSEE).
As a test task system studied 88 video demonstrating the process of cooking. Then, the robot had to repeat exactly what he saw, without human intervention.

As for the results of the project, they are very interesting. So, looking at the video, the robots were able to recognize the kitchen “accessory” to the video, choose from a range of instruments laid out on the table and use this tool. In this case, the robots use a food “toolbox” correctly – did exactly what was shown in the video.

According to the plan of scientists, computer system should not only recognize objects, to isolate actions and repeat them, but also to collect data for later use already prepared on the basis of “experience.” In theory it is possible to transfer knowledge from one robot to another.

According to the researchers, their system is able to develop, based on the information obtained earlier. This will avoid in the future a long and expensive process of programming, noted on the site DARPA. In the near future, the researchers plan to make changes to the system so that she was able to educate themselves by watching the actions of the people live.

With that said, the words of Bill Gates, Elon Musk and Stephen Hawking of the potential danger that lies in developing artificial intelligence, get more weight.
