Roundup E3 2015 – Leftovers elimination

E3 is built about a week ago ended, so the news of the stock market is gradually already old. It is therefore time to complete our coverage of the fair. However, we have not all the games that we’ve seen on the show here have discussed. We want to make up in one fell swoop with this statement.

Xcom 2

Publisher 2K Games gave the E3 enigmatic hints about a game that has something to do with Advent. It soon became clear to the announcement of Xcom 2 successor Xcom: Enemy Unknown in 2012, which is a reboot again the old Xcom games from the 90s. In Xcom 2 remains much to the old, but it is at once very different than usual. The main change: you have lost. Where are you at with the Enemy Unknown Xcom organization still fighting an alien invasion shows in Xcom 2 that you have lost the battle and that the Earth has been taken over by these same aliens. They have the earth under one overkoepelnde government that they have named Advent. When the game starts, it is 20 years later. Xcom still exists, but still only in the form of underground resistance against the alien oppressors. You are the leader of the opposition.

E3 presentation of Xcom 2.

It is Xcom 2 suddenly quite familiar. Basically, you control the troops on the battlefield in exactly the same way as its predecessor. The interface has changed slightly, but still very recognizable. Although the base is so familiar, the change of power showed a significant impact on the play. That is, if the one mission that we got to see at E3 is decisive. Where you as Commander in Enemy Unknown still had considerable time to prepare for your mission and to take positions, here it goes much faster. You barely one turn the time to let your troops in the right positions take place.

You also have a number of new units that are appropriate to the new status of Xcom. We saw a female warrior who seems to have been plucked straight from the conflict in Syria. Her nickname is Nightshadow and that shows how you can put her in the best; they can sneak unseen close and then with her machete strike silently. Ideal for a resistance army in the minority. In that picture fits the warrior called Burnout. He has a drone which he can reprogram enemy turrets so they now shoot aliens.

It fits in the mission that we saw come by. There must be a small team of Xcom penetrate the center of the alien power, to blow up the statue is in honor of 20 years of Advent. It is a typical terrorist mission: hit and run. When the first deaths have fallen once, the aliens act. The troops that they use to monitor the red a suspiciously human appearance. Probably not too much shock to hunt among the oppressed population. If things threaten to go, let the aliens show their true face. Then the Viper emerges, a new unit that looks like a large snake. The other units that use the aliens once they realize what is going to be a lot bigger than we are accustomed to Enemy Unknown. What also stood out in the demo is that there seems to be more broken than in Enemy Unknown, which makes it difficult to cover. Xcom 2 would fall to come on the market for Windows, Linux and OS X.
