Rumor: Apple stopped selling iMacs without Retina displays




Apple will stop selling iMacs without Retina screens. So says an anonymous source told Tweakers. Apple would be the 21.5 “model with FullHD resolution, which appeared last year, no longer deliver to retailers.

By halting deliveries Apple will still make up the stocks and then selling the current 21.5 “model strike, says the source. In 2012 dried up the stocks of the then current iMacs in favor of the thinner models. The new information is in line with previous rumors about an iMac with 4k screen which should be released this fall. Earlier this month, appeared also rumors on 9to5mac that a 21.5 “with resolution of 4096×2304 -iMac pixels was coming. The system would also have a faster processor and the sales would start in November.

Apple seems also to stop the sale of the 27.5 “-iMac with qHD screen, currently around 200 euros less expensive than the 5k version with Retina Display. This would allow all iMacs from this autumn a so-called Retina screen have, as now all iPhones and iPads have.
