Rumor: iPad with larger 12.2 “screen comes in second quarter and A9-soc

Apple reportedly has plans to come in the second quarter of 2015 with a larger iPad. The 12.2 “tablet would also have a new soc: it would go to the A9-soc, the successor to the A8X who is in the Air iPad 2.

The rumors come from the Japanese Macotakara, previously reported on the larger iPad and also was one of the first to the arrival of the iPhone 5 reported . The site states that in the second quarter of next year, a new iPad in the market should come with a diagonal of 12.2 “. Earlier spoke Macotakara still release in the third quarter of this year.

In the housing, an A9-soc are built. That is similar in naming the successor to the current A8X-soc, which is built into the iPad Air 2. For now, however, it is unclear what the specifications and performance of the A9-soc. The larger iPad would measure 305,3mm at 220.8 mm by 7 mm, as is shown in a schematic diagram of the tablet where Macotakara possess. The dimensions are consistent with previous rumors. If the figures are correct, then the big iPad is considerably thinner than the Surface Pro 3 from Microsoft, a tablet with similar size and probably the main competitor.

Macotakara also mentions the still unannounced iPad mini 4. It would also have to come out in the second quarter of next year and have the A8X-soc. Upon the release of the fourth generation of the previous versions would disappear from the stores. Apple had earlier criticized the release of the iPad mini 3 because it hardly offered innovations compared to the previous generation.

There have long been rumors going on an iPad with a larger screen diagonal than the current models. It appears that the price would be around that of the iPhone 6 and that stereo speakers are built into the front of the previous rumors.
