Microsoft plans to update Windows Mobile 10 for older Lumia that are now on Windows Phone 8.1 to release in March for the first aircraft. The company will not push the update initially to users of older Windows Phone version.

Microsoft calls into an e-mail to partners a deadline for the end of March, reports @evleaks on VentureBeat. This refers to the first wave of devices, which should include the Lumia 930, 1520 and 640. Gears of generations before, such as the 920 and 1020, come at a later time to act.

The Redmondse company also will separate the Windows 10 update “service update”, although it is unclear what that means exactly for users. The update is coming after the monthly update for the Lumia 950 and 950 XL, which Microsoft released Windows 10 mobile.

The update for older Lumia programs should start earlier in December, but the deadline has now missed . Earlier rumors spoke of January and February, but Microsoft has made no more public planning since December.

Besides the new interface makes it Redmondse now also possible to update without the intervention of providers, making future updates should be able to spread faster from Windows 10 machines to more devices.

Many users of older Lumia’s are already on Windows 10 mobile by the Insider Preview builds. Which are already known months as suitable for everyday use.
