Rumor: new iPhones receive mode for one-hand operation

The two new iPhones that Apple would announce next week and reportedly have larger screens will get a mode with one hand to operate the device. So say anonymous Apple employees at least against The New York Times.

It is not yet known how the mode will look like; American newspaper writes only that “the design of the user interface allows users to use one hand to operate apps with one hand typing. That mode can be switched on and off. That Apple is to meet one of the objections that some users have to phones with big screens: they hand can not operate it with one.

The New York Times further confirms that the new iPhones screen diagonal of 4.7 inches and 5.5 gain, as has long been suggested in rumors. The larger version will bring more costs. In contrast to the current iPhone the new models have more rounded, have softer edges, similar to that of the latest iPad models.

The newspaper also confirms that the new models get a NFC chip for making mobile payments.
