Rumor: Next HTC smartphone has 13MP front camera with dual flash

An upcoming smartphone from HTC, according to two well-established telecominsiders a front camera with a maximum resolution of thirteen megapixel with dual LED flash. It would be the first time that the manufacturer front camera puts on such a device.

Telecominsiders Paul O’Brien of MoDaCo site and custom ROM developer LlabTooFeR talk about HTC’s new devices on Twitter. It is a variant of the HTC One (M8) codenamed M8_Eye and another device that is currently known as Eye.

About the Eye except the front camera unknown. It would not be the first phone that can make selfies with a resolution of 13 megapixels, the Oppo N1 with rotatable camera can. The ZTE Nubia X6 has a regular front camera with a resolution of 13 megapixels. Moreover, Acer was also once a device with flash on the front, but the front camera has a lower resolution.

About M8_Eye were already rumors out: it would have a larger screen than the regular One (M8), with a diagonal of 5.2 “instead of 5”. That would theoretically fit in the same housing, but whether that HTC will do is unclear. HTC would be the 4-megapixel camera on the back for an exchange with a maximum resolution of 13 megapixels; thereby HTC would abandon the Ultra Pixel camera modules with lower resolutions and larger pixels it uses half years since.

The manufacturer holds an event next week in New York, where presumably his upcoming smartphones are going to present. There probably presents also GoPro competitor with periscope-shaped. The invitation for the event entitled ‘double exposure’ already seems to be that during the announcements HTC focuses on cameras a hint
