Rumor: Nintendo NX console runs on customized version Android




The Nintendo NX, a console that the Japanese manufacturer a few months ago suddenly for the first time called, would run on Google’s mobile operating system Android. Reported that the usually reliable Japanese business newspaper Nikkei based on an anonymous source.

With the move to the base of the NX software on Android Nintendo wants to make it easier for game developers to develop games, claiming Nikkei. The Japanese manufacturer is willing to take that step, because many game developers are pulled in development for the Wii U.

It is still unknown what the NX exactly. It could be a console or handheld, Nikkei but does not go into them. Nintendo wanted to during the call of NX in March to say that it was a “new concept in gaming.

Because large parts of its Android open source, manufacturers other than Google can modify the software themselves to their own taste and cast. It is also possible that Nintendo NX allows approved by Google itself, and it contains all Google services. Nintendo’s wording indicated that it might involve virtual reality.
