Samsung was next to an iris scanner and a fingerprint scanner, a third method to apply the Galaxy S8 for biometric security. The unit may get a face scanner, which should unlock the device in 0.01 seconds.

Therefore users can unlock your device by looking at it, writes the South Korean site The Investor according to an article in the Korea Economic Daily that is not published online. Face recognition is necessary because of the limitations of the iris scanner, which does not always work well with the technology used. Samsung put an iris scanner in the Galaxy Note 7 last year.

Face’s been since Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich default in Android, and Google has now put in Smart Lock. That is the collection of ontgrendelmethodes that Google offers via Play Services. That, however, does not work in 0.01 seconds and is dependent on the quality of the front camera.

Samsung presents the Galaxy S8 on 29 March at an event in New York. According to recent rumors there will be two versions. The regular version has a 5.8 “-oledscherm, while there is also a Plus version comes with 6.2” screen and dual cameras. The thin screen edges and 18.5: 9 aspect ratio of the display housing of both units would hardly outweigh the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge last year.
