Samsung was working on a second version of its Z1 Tizen phones, SamMobile reports. The new version is given allegedly an OLED screen, instead of an LCD as in the current Z1. It would be the third phone with Samsung’s own operating system.

There are no further details are known about the device, including the model number Z150 would be reported SamMobile. Samsung is working on a successor to the Z1, indicates that it wants to continue the development of Tizen for phones. The South Korean manufacturer still uses Android mainly on its phones. On other devices, such as TVs and until recently, cameras, Samsung does use Tizen.

Tizen is Samsung’s own operating system and comes from among more Bada, Samsung developed the system for its Wave phones from six years ago. Besides Bada Tizen has also emerged from the efforts of Intel, which developed first Moblin and Nokia with MeeGo, both on a Linux kernel based operating systems.

When Nokia stopped the development of MeeGo Samsung took over the baton. The Z1 was last year’s first Tizen device, but Samsung limited release and put the unit on the market in the Benelux. The more expensive Z3 did not come out.

The South Korean manufacturer released Friday three new products: the Galaxy S7 , Galaxy S7 Edge and 3G version of its smartwatch gear S2. This is the first consumer product with a built-in SIM , the possible future replacement of the SIM card.
