Rumor: Sharp comes in 2016 with 4k screens for smartphones

Sharp would want to build in 2016 4k screens for phones. The Japanese display manufacturer would do so at the urging of Chinese manufacturers that require screens with increasingly higher resolutions.

The first test production would take place next year, reports the Chinese The probable resolution of the screen is 3860×2140 pixels, the same resolution as 4k uhd TVs often use: that then have an aspect ratio of 16: 9, as usual with smartphones.

The screen would be a diagonal of between 5 “and 6” only. With a 6 “screen on the display comes from 735 pixels per inch, and the highest pixel density has been used up to now at 540 pixels per inch of the LG G3 and 565 pixels per inch of the Motorola Droid Turbo.

The demand for 4K displays for smartphones would come from Chinese manufacturers, which often focus on specs that do well in marketing, such as processors with more cores, cameras with more megapixels and screens with higher resolutions. It is unknown whether other display manufacturers are also working on 4K displays for smartphones.
