Russian mobile operators are preparing to test networks 5G

Russian mobile operators are preparing for the test networks 5G. An agreement to this has already been signed between the “MegaFon” and manufacturer of telecommunications equipment Huawei. The company said that the joint project will be the first experience of participation of the Russian mobile operator in the creation of next-generation networks.

“Beeline”, in turn, introduced the technology of Flash CSFB, which improves voice quality in networks of LTE. This is another step in the development strategy of the company and the introduction of advanced technologies and communication standards to improve the customer experience.

Experts “Beeline” take part in the international consortium NGMN Alliance, which is currently conducting research in the field of networks 5G and generates requirements for communications networks of the standard that will be available to subscribers in 2018-2020. Cellular provider is preparing to deploy pilot zones for the test solutions 5G at a very early stage of readiness of this technology to be tested, as there is an agreement with a key supplier of network equipment.

The main objective, pursued by the operators, is to create an effective network infrastructure. This will increase the amount of transferred Internet traffic in mobile networks. At the same time expected to significantly reduce the load on the network due to the greater capacity 5G.

In parallel with the “Megafon” and “Beeline” test new networking technologies and MTS plans. It is expected that an open testing 5G launched on the eve of the World Cup 2018 and will be conducted in several Russian cities.

Meanwhile, experts are skeptical about the plans of operators. Despite the fact that the development of technologies occurs rapidly, operators now concentrate on the development of networks of LTE. Experts believe that the full implementation of 5G in Russia should be expected no earlier than 2020-2021 years.
