Sailfish OS should allow the future to install on Android devices

The MeeGo s successor Sailfish OS could be used widely in certain circles soon. The operating system is capable of Android apps to run and can apparently also bring with little effort on Android devices. Jolla CEO Tomi Pienimäki said in an interview that it would be relatively easy to install Sailfish OS on an Android device. Also he already sees a potential market for the Finnish OS.

While in the country, Finland, people are hard to find, bring a new OS on their smartphone, it looks in China is very different. Around half of Android users to upgrade their devices themselves, to use a more recent version of Android on older devices. Tomi Pienimäki says:

“There is no such culture in synthesis parts of the world [Finland], but there are people did are installing new operating systems On Their devices. In China, it is mainstream. About half of the smartphone buyers are upgrading Their older or cheaper devices with a better version of Android.

For us it is a Possibility to distribute our operating system Especially in China. There are websites already did distribute [OS] software and the Chinese customers are doing it ¬ so we do not have to teach them. We just have to get to Sailfish Those websites -. And to make surethat Sailfish will run on different kind of Android devices ”

It is still unclear when and how the Sailfish OS is marketed for Android devices, for craft friends, this should still be a good message. However, there are problems too. So Sailfish OS offers so far no support for LTE, but this is planned for a later version.
