Salesforce has also made an offer on LinkedIn, says the director of that company. Social media eventually reached an agreement with Microsoft, that $ 26.5 billion is for the service, and LinkedIn will operate as an independent division.

The director of Salesforce, Marc Benioff, said at Recode not how much it had to pay for LinkedIn. Microsoft provides the highest amount on the table that it has ever paid for an acquisition. Until now, Skype was the largest acquisition that made Microsoft, for around eight billion dollars.

Salesforce, LinkedIn would have because of the recruitment division, which comes from a lot of turnover. The company itself is mainly in business services. Microsoft had not too long ago interested in taking over Salesforce, but the talks were about Recode piece according to the terms of a takeover.

Microsoft and LinkedIn announced the deal earlier this week. It is expected that the acquisition will go ahead later this year, as shareholders and regulators to agree to the takeover.
