Find a Question:
Samsung audiobook app is to let go of responsible car
Accidents caused by excessive speed have the worst consequences, according to a study by the Federal Statistical Office. Especially men often drive too fast. Four million men were registered in January 2013, according to Federal Motor Transport Authority for speeding violations – almost four times as many as women. The Statistic.
The issue has now taken up with Samsung. SlowDownDad, an audiobook app, which is intended to ensure the road for greater safety. How so? The app currently located in a beta plays audiobooks. The hear quite a lot in the car – I do too. Also one has to audiobooks when you have the kids back in the car. SlowDownDad has a few radio plays for kiddies in the luggage, here you will find for example “Peter Pan” or “Pinocchio”.
Thanks to GPS reception and integration of Germany’s allowable speeds from the OpenStreetMap database registers the “SlowDownDad” app if you are going too fast. The speeding causes the app plays the audio book faster and is no longer understood by the child or the handset. Instead of the mother’s famous phrase, “Honey, please do not ride so fast,” now ask the child to his father, to drive more slowly – so at least the idea behind the app.
The “SlowDownDad” app is currently in beta and compatible with Android version 2.2 products. It is expected to be available in time for the summer holidays in the summer of 2014 for download.
Personal opinion: Nice idea, if you can integrate your own audio books. But hand on heart, it’s always too fast – at least a little. I take myself out of this statement does not exclude himself was formerly one of the morons who have entered silly on the tube to shorten just a drive away. Luckily never happened and now what I think and drive differently.
On the highway, we find partially before no speed limit, so the audio book would still run at normal speed, when we are traveling with 210 things. Nice marketing idea, but on the streets, we are still responsible for our actions, so there an app will not help.
