Samsung buys provider of cloud services




Samsung has bought the US company Joyent. Joyent is a provider of cloud services and will as a subsidiary of the South Korean conglomerate continue to operate independently. Joyent competes include Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure.

The acquisition Joyent has the scale to compete against the big boys, because of the larger investments that can do Samsung, announced the company. Together with the parent company wants Joyent ‘mobile and Internet-of-things Services “to offer. What Samsung wants to achieve concrete with the acquisition of Joyent, both companies have not disclosed.

Joyent was founded twelve years. The company’s management remains in place. The cloud is headquartered in Sausalito, a town on the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge in the US city of San Francisco.
