Samsung comes in 2016 with 4TB 850-series SSDs




Samsung has announced the beginning of 2016 to come up with new solid state drives with larger capacities. The company will be NAND chips recently announced efforts to expand include the 850 Evo SSDs to 4TB.

In August, during the Flash Memory Summit, Samsung announced its third generation 3d V-NAND technology. With that chips, which consists of 48 layers of memory exist, 256GB of chips can be built. The current, second generation 3D V-nand has capacities of 128GB with 32 layers. The higher capacity per NAND chip is the new generation of larger storage capacities for SSD’s possible. Samsung announced on its SSD Global Summit at the beginning of 2016 will release SSDs with the third-generation V-nand.

The 2.5 “-formfactors of the 850 Pro and 850 Evo SSDs will be available in capacities up to 4TB. Now the maximum 2TB capacity yet.
