Samsung does not make uhd-blu-ray players anymore

Forbes writes that it had information that Samsung was working on a new high-end player for uhd-blu-ray, but that it no longer works. Samsung confirms to Forbes that it no longer makes new uhd-blu-ray players, but it is unclear whether the worldwide delivery stops.

Inquiries from CNet provided the answer that Samsung at least in the US stops with all blu-ray players. Tweakers has checked with the Korean company whether this also applies to Europe. During the IFA in Berlin last year and at the CES in Las Vegas in January there were no announcements from new players from Samsung.

Samsung has competition from Sony and Panasonic in that market. The company’s latest uhd-blu-ray players are the Samsung UBD-M7500, M8500 and M9500, from 2017.
