Samsung gives details of Tizen 3.0 and another round smart watch




Samsung has details explained in detail in version 2.4 and subsequent 3.0 of its own Tizen OS. The company introduces include support for Unity and improved navigation in version 2.4; Version 3.0 will 64bit support, improved performance and better security.

Samsung makes the news known on the Tizen Developer Summit in Bangalore. SamMobile is present there and spread the news via Twitter. Version 3.0 of Tizen get 64-bit support, a framework for supporting internet-of-things applications, simplified but enhanced security, multi-user support, and improved performance compared to previous versions. The company plans to continue Tizen do not just run on smartphones, smart watches and smart TVs, but also refrigerators and washing machines. Tizen 3.0 is “maybe this year”, according to Samsung. More plans with regard to internet-of-things let the company release on the Tizen Developer Conference, on 17 and 18 September in Shenzen, China.

About Samsung Gear A, also known as Orbis, some small details confirmed. For example, the rotatable edge on the outside will have 24 steps, and can be used to zoom, to adjust the volume, and to operate games. Also, progress bars will form a ring at the edge of the circular interface. Previously published details of Gear A are thus confirmed : the accessory is a display with 360 by 360 pixels and a 1.65 “screen in the slides in the presentation was the same rendering software that was previously seen already in the public. but it is unclear whether showing the final design of the gear A or not.

Tizen 2.4, which comes out later this year, will receive support for geofencing, geocoding, points of interest and improved navigation. In addition, Samsung is a partnership with Unity and Cocos2D to allow graphical rendering at higher levels. Tizen will also integrate multiple open source technologies such as OpenGL ES
