Samsung at CES in Las Vegas introduced a new series SUHD TVs. The new models are equipped with an anti-reflection coating which is inspired by the eye of a moth and a better representation of HDR has been increased to maximum brightness to 1000cd / m².

The new SUHD televisions all feature a 10bits uhd display panel with a quantum dot-backlight. SUHD is the name Samsung gives to its high-end UHDTV programs. In the production is given to the environment because the new panels are completely cadmium free. In order to prevent reflections, the panels are now equipped with ultra black- technology that absorbs ambient light in a similar manner to the eye of the moth does. Because of this, and because the maximum brightness is now increased to more than 1000cd / m², it is possible to display hdr-forth in a lighted room.

All smart TVs from the Korean brand run on the Tizen operating system which has a new ‘smart-hub homescreen with the 2016 version. Samsung has announced that in 2016 via the Playstation Now streaming service will be five hundred games on their TVs, but this service is currently only available in North America and Great Britain. Playstation Now whether this year will also be available in other countries on Samsung TVs is not yet known.

For 2016 there is also and new Smart Control remote with motion detection that can be used as a universal remote control. Devices such as set-top boxes, game consoles, home theater systems can be controlled with it. Because the TV itself detects which brand and type of device is connected, it is not necessary to configure for use this function.

All new SUHD models can serve as an internet-of-things-hub. To this end, Samsung 2014 Smart Things business acquired. There are now more than two hundred devices compatible with Smart Things example, make it possible to operate lights and see on TV who is there for the front door and the door can be unlocked via the remote control of the TV. Needed for full functionality, there is a separate purchase of Smart Things Extend- USB adapter.

A special model in the new line-up is the curved ‘bezelloze’ KS9500 SUHD TV. According to Samsung, the bezel “left out” so that nothing can distract from the images displayed on the screen. This design philosophy is extended to the back where there are no screws are visible in order to make a TV that looks good from any angle. It is not yet known when the new models will be available in the UK and also mentioned there are no prices.
