Samsung introduces Exynos soc with integrated 4G modem




Samsung has presented its first Exynos soc with integrated 4G modem. Until now Samsung Exynos processors could only 4g supplied by separate modems. The first soc is intended for low-cost devices.

Samsung gives little information released about the processor, but says the soc who identifies with MODAP provides support for 4G in category 4, so to 150Mbit / s down and 50Mbit / s up; So it does not support the upcoming 4G + LTE advanced Vodafone and KPN.

Samsung also mentions that the soc has a memory bandwidth of 6.8 GB / s; which is the same as for example the Exynos 4 Quad from the Galaxy S III in 2012. Other Exynos processor from Samsung now have a memory bandwidth around 15GB / s. The manufacturer also mentions that the image signal processor can handle up to eight megapixels and video up to 30fps, images if not refer to the manufacturer of the video resolution.

Other details about the soc, and used as the core clock speed of the four processor cores, the GPU used, the supported Wi-Fi and Bluetooth standards and frequency bands for 2G, 3G and 4G lacking.

The processor is expected to focus on cheap smartphones from Samsung itself with 4G support or sales to other manufacturers: Samsung from selling its Exynos socs competitors reportedly a top priority created.
