Samsung introduces round Gear S2 smart watch




Samsung has its first round smart watch officially presented the Gear S2. The device has a 1.2 “-oled screen with a resolution of 360×360 pixels. There will also be a 3G version, but has no SIM card slot.

The 3G version uses an e-sim, a built-in sim that works with various providers. It is the first time that a manufacturer an e-sim in a device stops the ability to call, claims Samsung. The 3G version comes out at all the major carriers in the United States, but Samsung Benelux speaks in his announcement not the 3G version.

The gear S2 comes in two variants on the Dutch market. A gray version and a black version with more details in the case and a leather strap. The smart watch is running at an unnamed version of Tizen, Samsung’s own operating system. That makes it likely that the gear S2 will only work in conjunction with Samsung’s own smartphones, but the manufacturer calls it nowhere.

Control of the smart watch proceeds via the rotating edge of the device, while on the right are two buttons for Back and Home. Moreover, the screen is a touch screen, allowing users to interact with the interface on the screen.

The screen has a diagonal of 1.2 “and thanks to the resolution of 360×360 pixels, the AMOLED display has more than 300 pixels per inch. That’s one of the sharpest screens in a smart watch so far.

The Gear S2 has a 250mAh battery, which according to Samsung smart watch two to three days can do without having to be recharged. The smart watch this fall, but an exact release date or price, the manufacturer has not yet been given.
