Samsung is working with automakers to put as a basis for software in cars. Their own Linux distro in Tizen The manufacturer is at the table including Jaguar and Toyota. In the future, Tizen also run on refrigerators.

Samsung wants are Tizen mobile operating system to more devices than just smartphones and tablets use, so writes the South Korean news ETNews based on a developer conference in the South Korean capital Seoul. Tizen will serve for in-car entertainment systems of Toyota and Jaguar / Land Rover as a basis.

Tizen Samsung also wants to use for household appliances such as refrigerators. By having to use its own software Samsung wants an ‘ecosystem’ build devices that all work on the same operating system. In addition, the manufacturer with Tizen development itself in hand, unlike with Android.

Many manufacturers focus on software in cars. Apple wants to do more with dealing with it and Nokia is also engaged . Tizen is supported by 36 companies, so the Tizen Association announced itself. Besides Samsung and Intel that include McAfee, Konami and Panasonic. Big names of providers or manufacturers are missing from the list.
