Samsung loses market share to smaller manufacturers in smartphone market
Smaller manufacturers snacking slowly but surely market share from market leader Samsung. While Apple remained fairly stable with a market share of around 12 percent, the share of Samsung from 32.5 percent to 23.8 percent.
Samsung is a quarter of its market share thus within a year lost to smaller manufacturers, as market analyst firm IDC has estimated . Apple did not win with it: the share of iPhones dropped slightly from 12.9 percent to 12 percent.
The winners are mainly smaller manufacturers. The biggest winner is Xiaomi, of 2.1 percent to 5.3 percent is gone and has become the world number three. LG and Lenovo share fourth place. Huawei, which in the previous quarter to the third place occupied, is also on the shared fourth place with a market share of 5.1 percent.
The supply of smart phones increased by a quarter, from 261 million to 327 million copies. Thus it seems that the change process in the growth of the smartphone market is not yet in it.
