The phone comes with different airbags than those that caused some phones to burn.

Samsung officially announced on Sunday that it will begin selling a revised version of its Galaxy Note 7 , which was withdrawn from the market last year, in South Korea as of July 7, using batteries different from those that caused the burning of some phones .

South Korea’s consumer electronics giant said in a statement that it would offer 400,000 units of the phone, which is now known as the Galaxy Note 7 Fan Edition, in its country at a price of $ 611, 30% less than the price Launch for the original Galaxy Note 7. The devices will be manufactured from the Galaxy Note 7, which is withdrawn from the market and never used.

Samsung said the refurbished batteries would come in less than those of the original Galaxy Note 7, but had passed the new safety measures that were introduced after its withdrawal.

The company, the world’s largest maker of smartphones in size, was shaken to stop sales of the Galaxy Note 7 last October, almost two months after it was launched, because the batteries were on fire.

The pull-out of the market led to a loss of more than US $ 5 billion in operating profit and damaged its reputation. However, the company has since recovered from the launch that was described as successful for its Galaxy S8 smartphone.

Earlier this year, Samsung said it planned to sell a revised version of its Galaxy Note 7 phone after investigations by independent companies and companies concluded that the batteries were solely responsible for the fire.

A report by Reuters last month quoted an informed source that Samsung plans to hold a special event launch of the Galaxy Note 8 during the second half of August next.

The company said it would decide whether to sell the “Galaxy Note 7 fan version” in other markets later. It said it was not planning to sell the device in the United States or India.
